About

Programmer, physician, and maker of things.

Wassim Alhajomar

Hey there! I'm Wassim, a software developer and physician living and working in Munich, Germany. My journey between medicine and programming was shaped by a mix of curiosity and broad interests: I was always drawn to both the biological and the technical worlds. After high school, I applied to both medicine and physics, but was accepted in Charité's Medical School in Berlin, so I moved there, completed my studies around 2023 and stepped into clinical practice through a residency in General Surgery. But alongside this path, another passion began to take root.

While studying in Berlin around 2020, I reconnected with an old friend who introduced me to the world of programming. I kept nagging him to teach me how to make a simple game, so he taught me a few things and pointed me to a video series titled "Intro into C". What started as a casual introduction to making games quickly became a deep fascination. I fell in love with systems programming and the art of building things from the ground up. Discovering Casey Muratori's Handmade Hero series was a turning point for me: it fueled my passion for writing games, engines and tools from scratch, focusing on craftsmanship and understanding rather than just using pre-made solutions.

In 2026 I co-founded Dihedron Software in Munich. We build native creative tools from scratch: Blick, a video editor, and Zeiger, an image viewer.

When I'm not at the keyboard, you'll often find me exploring other creative pursuits: composing and playing music, drawing and painting, or simply diving into good books and philosophical conversations. Creating things is a thread that runs through everything I do, and I live for it. This space is where I share the projects and ideas I've poured myself into over the years, so thanks for stopping by.
